Job Number #FTPL11392
Location: Queensland, Australia
Time: Oct 2024 - Present
Fowlerex was contracted by an Australian construction company to supply a gas scrubbing system for the Queensland Resources Common User Facility (QRCUF). The QRCUF is a strategic initiative led by the Queensland Government, designed to support pilot and demonstration scale trials of critical minerals and rare earth element processing technologies.
The facility is intended to accelerate the commercialisation of new processing methods, promote investment in advanced mineral manufacturing, enable the growth of local supply chains, and support the long-term sustainability of Queensland’s resources sector. The QRCUF is located at the Cleveland Bay Industrial Park, approximately 6.5 km south of Townsville city centre.
Fowlerex’s scope of supply included 2 gas scrubber, 1 venturi scrubber, 1 carbon filter (all stainless steel) and 3 stainless steel fans, designed to meet the requirements of a pilot-scale processing environment. These components form part of the air pollution control system used in the facility’s various mineral processing trials.
The scrubber and fans are currently being fabricated by Taurus Engineering, a sister company, in accordance with Fowlerex’s specifications and quality standards. Delivery to site is planned for October, coordinated with the broader project schedule.
While Fowlerex is not responsible for installation or commissioning, the system is engineered and being supplied to integrate effectively within the overall plant design, supporting compliance with environmental performance expectations.
This project forms part of Fowlerex’s involvement in supporting resource sector pilot facilities, with a focus on equipment supply and coordinated delivery of air pollution control systems.
