Job #FTPL11232
A major Australian manufacturer of insulation and ventilation products asked Fowlerex to deliver a full turnkey solution for their Ingleburn site.
Fowlerex designed, fabricated, and installed a new Baghouse Dust Collector, Fan, and Ducting system to replace an existing unit that was no longer in service.
Their production process involves active glass furnaces, which emit dust and odorous compounds. To address this, a new extraction system was installed, including a high-temperature rated PA192 Baghouse, centrifugal fan, and a full ducting run, along with temperature protection systems.
The baghouse is designed to handle 21,000 Nm³/h of airflow, with a temperature limit of up to 200°C. It contains 192 filter bags, providing a total cloth area of 362 m²—a clear indication of the scale and capacity of the system. A thermocouple-activated fire isolation system in the ducting was installed.
The fan selected for this project is a Taylors FB1000 high-efficiency centrifugal fan, with high temperature modifications. All other components, including the baghouse and ductwork, were fabricated and installed by our partner under Fowlerex’s project management.
Ducting installation presented unique challenges, as it required transporting and assembling large duct sections across the upper section of an operational factory to reach the connection point on the existing furnace stack.
The mechanical installation is now completed, with system commissioning pending.
