    Location: Mongolia

    Schedule: November 2023 - June 2024

    Job number #FTPL11249

    Background

Fowlerex was approached by Erdene LLC, Mongolia, to design and manufacture a scrubber system. This project aimed to collect fumes from the sodium cyanide mixing and holding tanks in the ore handling process, improving air quality and reducing environmental impact.

The system features a packed bed wet scrubber vessel with an exhaust stack and rain cowl, along with a recirculation system and a ducted fan. The system operates by utilizing a fan to push the extracted air through the scrubber, where a fine mist of scrubbing liquid is applied to the packed bed. This process effectively decontaminates the air before it is released into the environment. Additionally, the system functions autonomously, thanks to its integrated electronic control system, ensuring a continuous discharge of cleaner air.

    Our Solutions

Our team provided a complete solution that encompassed the design and production of a packed bed wet scrubber featuring a total packing depth of 2400mm, utilizing polypropylene tellerette-style packing. The solution also included an exhaust stack, a rain cowl, and a 5.5kW extraction fan, all packed into custom crates for safe and secure shipping.

This initiative demonstrates our ability to deliver customized and efficient solutions in demanding environments, showcasing Fowlerex's proficiency in environmental engineering and commitment to sustainable practices.

    Outcomes
The equipment has been successfully supplied and shipped, with logistics facilitated by the client’s dedicated professionals. Despite challenges related to miscommunication and coordination with the local freight forwarder, the equipment was delivered safely.
